The Flinders locals are a creative and resourceful lot and you can see the fruits of their labour at Whitemark and Lady Barron. Recycled driftwood, roasted coffee, local honeys, wines, homemade soaps and handmade arts and crafts are all on show, giving you a peek into the heart and soul of Flinders.

Gift shops, galleries and supermarkets in Whitemark close around noon on a Saturday then reopen Monday. Keep in mind locals like their leisure time and are often out in the boat or walking on the beach on Sundays. The Island News is published fortnightly on a Thursday and has plenty of interesting stories and news on current events.
