Join chefs David Moyle (LongSong), Mark Labrooy (Three Blue Ducks), James Viles (Biota), Matt Stone (Oakridge), Jo Barrett (Oakridge) and sommelier Alice Chugg (Ettie’s) for a special long-lunch at one of Flinders Island’s spectacular locations.  The team will spend five days exploring, diving and foraging ahead of the lunch to bring together an experience that is truly unique.  Open to just 100 ‘off-islanders,’ the exact location will be announced 48 hours prior to the event, taking in to account varying wind directions and weather conditions on the island.
Dress code: barefoot cocktail (we also strongly advise bringing a hat and sunglasses).

Local Produce & Crayfish At Taste of Flinders

To celebrate the 2018 Food and Crayfish Festival the team at Taste of Flinders will be serving up their usual offering of fresh local ingredients along with a special crayfish inspired menu. Eat in for brunch or lunch and enjoy a matching cider, beer or local G&T or grab something to take away and enjoy outside in one of Flinders Island’s many breath-taking locations.

Pick and Party at Unavale Vineyard

Ever wanted to know what it’s like to harvest grapes? Unavale Vineyard owners, Bev and Roger Watson invite you to join them for their annual grape harvest. Simply don a sun hat and join in with the local picking crew. Your hard work will be rewarded at the end of the day with the usual Flinders Island hospitality – food, wine and a good old fashioned party.

Pepper Berry Cove

Pop into local eatery Pepper Berry Cove during the festival weekend to sample the delicious homemade crayfish pies and fresh, crayfish salads. Either take a seat in-store or takeaway and enjoy a picnic outside and take in the stunning vistas that Flinders Island boasts.

Cooma House Cooking Class

Join Flinders Island’s resident foodie, Wendy Jubb Stoney for a special hands-on cooking class in the lead up to the Flinders Island Food & Crayfish festival.  Open to just five people, Wendy will take participants through a variety of dishes using ingredients such as wallaby, salmon and mutton bird (her famous mutton bird curry is not to be missed).

Loaves and Fishes Lunch

Join Wendy Jubb Stoney for a shared-style community luncheon at her newly renovated property, Cooma House.  Guests are asked to bring a plate to share and Wendy will also be serving some of her lovingly prepared dishes. “At Cooma House, food is a gift of love; gathering seasonal ingredients, creating delicious, sumptuous food and sharing is what we do,” says Wendy.
